3M Arena at Mariucci
3M Arena at Mariucci, or simply “3M Arena,” is the home of the University of Minnesota’s men’s hockey team and one of the most iconic college hockey venues in the country. Located on the Twin Cities campus in Minneapolis, the arena first opened in 1993 as Mariucci Arena, named after legendary Gophers coach John Mariucci, who is often referred to as the “Godfather” of Minnesota hockey. In 2017, 3M acquired naming rights, giving the venue its current name while maintaining its deep connection to Gophers hockey history. Known for its Olympic-sized ice sheet, passionate fan base, and storied tradition, the arena has hosted countless thrilling matchups and championship teams. Renovations over the years have enhanced player facilities and spectator experiences, ensuring 3M Arena at Mariucci remains a premier destination for college hockey.
