Huntington Bank Stadium
Huntington Bank Stadium, sometimes referred to as “The Bank,” is the home of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football team and a landmark venue on the Twin Cities campus in Minneapolis. Opened in 2009 to bring Golden Gopher football back to campus after their 27-season tenure at the Metrodome, the horseshoe-style stadium features modern amenities and seating for over 50,000 fans. Over the years, the venue has hosted everything from international soccer matches to high-profile concerts, cementing its reputation as a world-class gathering space. At the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, it will be the host of Opening and Closing Ceremonies, welcoming athletes and supporters for these monumental celebrations, while Thrivent Fan Fest is located just outside the stadium in the Maroon Lot.
