Shaun Linsey is a dedicated Special Olympics Texas athlete with nearly 13 years of involvement in the organization. Competing in a diverse range of sports such as golf, kayaking, sailing, cheerleading, volleyball, and tennis, Shaun finds immense joy in making new friends through sports. His passion lies in inspiring and encouraging fellow athletes, fostering team spirit, and recognizing everyone’s accomplishments.
My hopes and dreams for the 2026 USA Games are that everyone involved has a very memorable time!
Shaun’s remarkable journey includes winning the Best Guest Services Attendant Award at the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles. His dedication to athlete leadership garnered recognition in the U.S. Congressional Record. Beyond athletics, he also authored “Be Brave in the Attempt,” a book chronicling 50 years of Special Olympics Texas. A high-honors Cartography graduate, Shaun is now a GIS technician and licensed drone pilot, adding additional layers to his skill set. With hopes for a memorable 2026 USA Games, Shaun continues to inspire through sports, education, and technological pursuits.
