Bobby Hunter is the Chief Executive Officer of UnitedHealthcare Government Programs, where he leads the organization’s Medicare and Medicaid businesses and ensures millions of people nationwide receive high-quality, accessible care. Since joining UnitedHealth Group in 2011, he has held a series of strategic and innovation-driven leadership roles that have strengthened the company’s impact and mission. His early career began in investment banking at Piper Jaffray, providing a strong foundation in finance and organizational strategy.
Beyond his executive work, Bobby is deeply committed to expanding opportunity and inclusion in Minnesota. He serves on the boards of Twin Cities Rise and Special Olympics Minnesota, where he has long championed the power of sport and community to change lives. In early 2025, he donned a Ken (from Barbie) costume for the Polar Plunge, raising $90,000 to support inclusive sports, health, and leadership programs in Minnesota schools. As a longtime advocate for Special Olympics, Bobby is honored to support the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games and looks forward to helping create an inspiring, transformative experience for every athlete and family who takes part.
